Palm Beach Atlantic University

Palm Beach Atlantic School of Nursing announces the addition of a new track in our graduate program. Beginning this Fall, 2017 we are offering a DNP Executive Leadership Track. Due to the turbulent, ever-changing world of healthcare the demand for nurse executives has been escalating. Nurse leaders in executive practice set the vision for nursing practice in the delivery of safe, timely, efficient, equitable and patient-centered care. Working within an interprofessional environment, the nurse in executive practice is influential in improving the patient experience of care, improving the health of populations and decreasing the per capita of healthcare cost. Palm Beach Atlantic School of Nursing now offers an Executive Leadership degree which prepares nurses to function in leadership and management roles at the department and senior executive level.

The curriculum focuses on developing the knowledge and skills to effectively lead in complex clinical environments. Core courses provide a foundation in evidence based practice and research, nursing outcomes, use of technology, finance, organizational theory and health policy. This knowledge is then expanded upon through courses in strategic leadership, leadership in complex systems, and clinical systems analysis and design. Students will have a uniquely designed clinical residency with a senior-level mentor. During residency, students will complete a DNP Project designed to synthesize and apply knowledge gained throughout the program.

Faculty include individuals with extensive experience in leadership of clinical systems, executive practice, professional communication and development, and health policy. For more information contact Mr. King at Bruce_king @pba.edu.
