NursingCAS Information Session at the Nursing Workforce Diversity Grantee Summit
November 15, 2017 @ 4:15 pm - 5:15 pm
AACN is excited to offer an optional NursingCAS information session to the Nursing Workforce Diversity Grantee Summit attendees on November 15 in Atlanta to coincide with your event.
If you are interested in learning more about how to leverage the centralized application service, NursingCAS, to facilitate a holistic review then please join the NursingCAS team after the Summit concludes for an information session that will begin around 4:15 PM and conclude by 5:15 PM. For your convenience the session will be held in the same room at the Marriott Marquis Hotel.
NursingCAS is a free resource provided by AACN to accredited nursing programs. It’s a customizable tool for your school to use to collect and review your custom, holistic admissions information (experiences, attributes, and metrics) from applicants.
Customize what your admissions committee sees and reviews for each applicant:
- Hide applicant data fields to reduce bias
- Display essays, CV, references, and other relevant information for reviewers
- Track, assign, and record interview results
- Search for applicants using filters such as demographics and other key data points
- Build and download custom and comparative reports – see how your applicant pool compares with the national pool
- Incorporate scoring rubrics based on your custom holistic criteria to assess your applicant pool
More than 225 schools use NursingCAS to manage their admissions process; many of those programs conduct a holistic review with the secure, web-based system and reported increased exposure to a larger applicant pool and other positive results.
Over 100,000 applications were initiated during the 2016 – 2017 NursingCAS cycle consisting of a diverse pool; 47% from underrepresented minority groups and 16% male. NursingCAS provides valuable information to prospective students about the admissions requirements of participating nursing programs and the ability to easily find and apply to programs of interest through one, online service.
