Professional Transcript Entry Overview
Have questions about Professional Transcript Entry (PTE)? Take a look below at PTE information from the student and WebAdMIT user perspectives.

Professional Transcript Entry: Applicant Requirements and Completion Timeline

Professional Transcript Entry is a service provided for an additional fee to applicants who prefer to not manually enter their own coursework. Applicants must submit and pay for the application, and all transcripts must arrive before PTE specialists begin coursework entry. After all transcripts are received, Liaison then notifies PTE applicants of the 3-step process:
  1. Coursework entry by specialists (may take up to ten business days)
  2. Applicants must review and sign off on coursework entry after receiving notification in the application portal. This step typically holds up students as they don’t log in and approve the coursework entry! The application will not move forward without this approval. Remind students to complete this step immediately.
  3. Application verification begins (may take an additional two weeks)
To ensure that an application is complete and ready for the verification process, AACN encourages programs that require coursework entry to advise PTE students to:
  1. Plan ahead for the 3-4 week window of time required for Professional Transcript Entry (from start to finish). Students should be aware that selecting PTE will add time to their application processing.
  2. Complete all required PTE steps.
  3. Monitor their PTE status by checking the Notifications page in the NursingCAS application.
As another quicker option, students can choose to enter their coursework directly in the application. The user-friendly coursework entry process only takes students 35-40 minutes on average to complete.

Professional Transcript Entry: WebAdMIT Query to Identify PTE Applicants
There are five PTE statuses available in WebAdMIT. Review the definitions of each status in the WebAdMIT Help Center. Programs can find an applicant’s PTE status by viewing the Applicant Header or running a WebAdMIT query. Follow the steps below for more guidance on how to identify PTE applicants.
  1. Create a field list of PTE applicants in WebAdMIT’s List Manager. In the Select Field for Query column, click PTE Status under the Applicant sub-header.
  2. To generate a list of applicants with PTE status, select one of the options below:
    • OPTION A: To generate a list of all applicants who have a PTE status, select the option Is Not Null.
    • OPTION B: To identify a group of applicants with a specific PTE status, select the Equals option, and select the preferred PTE status.
  3. Hit Submit to run the list query.
  4. After generating a list of applicants, use the List Actions button in the top right corner to edit the list rules or export the list using Export Manager.

This section provides monthly updates on new features and enhancements available within the Applicant Portal, Configuration Portal, and WebAdMIT, as well as information on upcoming training events and opportunities.

Configuration Portal Enhancements
Update to the Prelaunch Environment: New Program Preview Feature Added
This enhancement is now available for use in the Prelaunch Environment. Prelaunch is a “staging” environment that allows users to configure programs for the new cycle without impacting the current one.  Previously, when users configured a program(s) in Prelaunch, the only way one could view it in the application was to have it approved by the association, Account Manager, or Client Success Manager. If users needed to make additional edits, then the CAS representative would have to reset the program(s) back to draft. With this new enhancement, users will now be able to preview programs in the application by clicking the Preview your program(s) in a testing environment option. Once activated, a new Preview Program(s) button will appear. Users can click this button to be redirected to a test application with the program(s) already selected. Users will then be able to navigate to the Program Materials section and preview their configurations. Review the Preview Your Programs article for more guidance.

WebAdMIT Enhancements
Update to TOEFL Score Reports
Starting in May 2021, TOEFL MyBest Scores will be available in WebAdMIT. MyBest Scores combines an applicant’s best scores for each test section from all valid TOEFL scores in the last two years. Users can view scores in the Standardized Tests panel of the Applicant Details page and the Full Application PDF under the Documents panel of the Applicant Details page. All score reports sent after August 1, 2019, will include the applicant’s MyBest Scores as well as individual scores from each test date.

to Password Requirements and New Password Strength Meter
The WebAdMIT’s password requirements are updated. The new formula is now displayed when users reset their passwords. This update will now make selecting passwords easier as requested by members. Review the criteria in the Release Notes.

Letters by Liaison Enhancements
Update to Letters by Liaison’s Interface
This enhancement ensures Letters by Liaison meets 508 and WCAG 2.0 compliance standards. These updates include improved color contrast, field spacing, clearer field outlines, navigation, and compatibility with screen readers, among others. These standards will further help make electronic and information technology accessible to people with disabilities.

New Documentation
Configuration Portal Quick Start Guide
The Configuration Portal allows schools to customize a program(s) in the application. Customization options include Questions, Prerequisites, Documents, Evaluations, Transcripts, and Coursework Entry. Review the Configuration Portal Quick Start Guide for best practices and a suggested workflow to build a program.

Test-Optional Admissions Yields Benefits
“ACT released a statement on the study. “Eliminating standardized testing does not address the systemic issues at the root of educational inequities in our education system. This research right-sizes expectations about test-optional. Modest gains might occur, though major gains are unlikely.”

The Future of Admissions — During and After the Pandemic

“The pandemic has served as a catalyst for acceleration not only in the corporate world but in higher education as well,” Haddad said. “This will not change any time soon. It creates space for innovation and fosters the belief that doing something different is possible and will be welcomed.”

Community Colleges Turn to New Incentives for Recruitment

“Desperate to slow the steep decline of entering students, community colleges are getting creative and offering scholarships, complimentary laptops, and free summer courses to high school graduates who enroll.”
