The NursingCAS Applicant Newsletter is a monthly newsletter intended to keep you informed about programs with available space, deadline extensions, and new programs added to NursingCAS. The newsletter will feature:

  • Open Seats: One of the benefits of NursingCAS is to provide notifications to applicants about programs that have available space. Review the listing below to determine if you would like to apply to one of these programs.
  • Deadline Extensions: Programs often extend their deadlines in order to allow applicants more time to complete the admissions process. Review the list below to see if any programs you are interested in have extended their deadline.
  • New Programs: New programs are added to NursingCAS on a continual basis. Discover and learn about new program offerings available to you by reviewing the listings below.

Baldwin Wallace University

The deadline to apply for Baldwin Wallace University’s Accelerated BSN program is May 15, 2023.

Baldwin Wallace University’s in-person program (located near Cleveland, OH) will prepare candidates for a successful career in nursing in just 15 months! Colorado Mesa University

The Colorado Mesa University (CMU) Graduate Nursing Program offers Master of Science in Nursing degrees in family nurse practitioner and new adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner tracks. CMU also offers a Doctor of Nursing Practice-Family Nurse Practitioner dual track. Both the MSN and DNP degrees are fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Part-time and full-time attendance options exist for all degrees and tracks. Courses are offered online, allowing students to reside in their home communities; however, some travel to campus is expected as students move through the program.

CMU boasts relatively small class sizes, allowing students to have meaningful interactions with peers and course faculty. CMU graduates also perform at or above the national average for nurse practitioner certification pass rates and employment following graduation. Through mentoring by faculty who are nationally recognized nurse leaders, students can expect a rigorous, yet personalized graduate nursing experience at CMU.

Post-Graduate Certificate

  • Family Nurse Practitioner: This option is available to registered nurses or advanced practice registered nurses with a Master of Science in nursing in another area. Students may complete up to 32 credit hours in the program. Upon completion of required courses, students are eligible to sit for the family nurse practitioner national certification exam.

Master of Science in Nursing

  • Family Nurse Practitioner: Available to registered nurses with a Bachelor of Science in nursing, this program prepares family nurse practitioners for outpatient settings across the lifespan. The program consists of online courses with on-campus intensives three times throughout the entire program. Part-time and full-time tracks are available. Now admitting for Fall 2023 & Summer 2023! Second MSN option: For registered nurses and advanced practice registered nurses with a Master of Science in nursing in another area, up to 15 hours of essential courses may count toward the 45-hour degree completion.
  • Master’s Entry into Professional Nursing: Harding offers the first prelicensure program in Arkansas, preparing students to become advanced entry-level professional nurses who graduate with a Master of Science in nursing. The master’s entry into professional nursing will include a focus on health care administration and leadership. The five-semester program is offered year-round.

Two tracks are available for the MEPN program:

  1. Traditional track for those with bachelor’s degree in any field.*
  2. Early entry track for those with 90 undergraduate credit hours.*

*Both tracks require Arkansas nursing prerequisites

Mary Baldwin University

Mary Baldwin University is accepting applications for our dynamic Doctor of Nursing Practice program. This entry-to-practice degree is designed to prepare BSN-qualified nurses who are ready to advance their careers. Choose from two possible tracks:

We also offer a DNP completion option for nurses who hold an MSN. This part-time plan can be completed in six semesters with no on-campus residency required.

The OHSU School of Nursing’s RNBS Completion program and Master’s in Nursing Education program are accepting applications to start in Fall 2023.

Palm Beach Atlantic University

Palm Beach Atlantic University has open seats at both the West Palm Beach campus and the Orlando campus.

Undergraduate Degrees:

  • The Upper-level track BSN program is a traditional 16-week daytime format and allows students who have already taken their science requirements to enter into upper-level nursing courses and complete the program in about two and half years. Traditional BSN Program launching in Fall 2023!

Due to the high demand for nurses, the UP is pleased to provide this exciting opportunity for students who are interested in a more traditional college experience, while earning a BSN. The traditional BSN is a 4-year, on-campus nursing program designed to prepare students for a rewarding career as a registered nurse. The program will immerse students in a didactic learning experience through a foundational education in liberal arts, curated nursing courses, and enhanced skills training through an innovative, on-campus simulation lab designed to elevate nursing students educations.

Students who apply for Direct Entry Admission must meet the following criteria:

  • Completed NursingCAS application by the priority deadline of April 30 containing:
    (1) Personal Statement addressing knowledge of the Mission of the University of Providence
    (2) Personal Statement addressing interest and experience with the nursing profession
  • Two professional letters of recommendation
  • 3.0 cumulative high school GPA
  • Completion of two years of science (biology and chemistry recommended)
  • Completion of high school math through Algebra I
