The NursingCAS Applicant Newsletter is a monthly newsletter intended to keep you informed about programs with available space, deadline extensions, and new programs added to NursingCAS. The newsletter will feature:

  • Open Seats: One of the benefits of NursingCAS is to provide notifications to applicants about programs that have available space. Review the listing below to determine if you would like to apply to one of these programs.
  • Deadline Extensions: Programs often extend their deadlines in order to allow applicants more time to complete the admissions process. Review the list below to see if any programs you are interested in have extended their deadline.
  • New Programs: New programs are added to NursingCAS on a continual basis. Discover and learn about new program offerings available to you by reviewing the listings below.

Applicants can also view the NursingCAS Events Calendar, where NursingCAS schools provide prospective students with information on events like upcoming webinars and information sessions throughout the application cycle.

NursingCAS hosted our Preparing and Strengthening Your NursingCAS Application webinar earlier this month. If you weren’t able to make it, you can still watch the recording to stay well-informed on applicant best practices.

Baldwin Wallace University

The deadline to apply for the Accelerated BSN (ABSN) Fall 2024 cohort at Baldwin Wallace University is May 1, 2024.

The ABSN is designed for students who have earned a degree in a field outside of nursing and are interested in earning their BSN… in just 15 months! Located near Cleveland, OH, students enrolled in the ABSN are given clinical opportunities with world-renowned research hospitals and medical centers, such as the Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals.

Additional highlights of this program include:

  • Outstanding graduate first-time passage rates on the NCLEX-RN licensure exam
  • Individualized faculty mentoring and collaborative learning experiences with cohort members
  • Access to state-of-the-art labs and high-tech equipment

Applications must be completed through NursingCAS. Prerequisites can still be in process by the time students apply. A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 and a minimum prerequisite GPA of 3.0 is required to be considered for this program.

Bellarmine University

The Bellarmine University Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program has open seats for our May 2024 cohort (May 6, 2024). We offer a 12-month, fast-paced, intensive nursing program with over 750 hours of clinical experience. Small class sizes and specialty clinical experiences in critical care, trauma, ER, mother-baby, pediatrics, community public health, psychiatric mental health, and nursing leadership/management set Bellarmine nurses apart.

We offer free summer housing on our beautiful campus in the heart of Louisville, perennially ranked one of America’s most livable cities.

California State University, East Bay

We are now accepting applications for Fall 2024 through June 1, 2024. The CSU East Bay’s online/hybrid MSN program offers two practice concentrations:

  • Nursing Education
  • Nursing Leadership and Administration

The program offers high-quality, accessible, online graduate education over four semesters as well as annual two-day campus immersion meetings that give critical support for student success. Graduates in Nursing Education will be well-equipped to work as educators in clinical or academic settings. Graduates in the Leadership & Administration Concentration will be prepared for mid-level management and leadership positions in a variety of healthcare settings.

Charles R. Drew University

The Summer priority deadline to apply for the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science BSN and MSN Summer 2024 cohort is Wednesday, May 1.

MSN tracks for post-bachelor’s and post-master’s certificates:

  • Family Nurse Practitioner
  • Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

BSN tracks:

  • Pre-nurse
  • Prelicensure

Full-time and part-time plans of study are available for our programs. The Fall 2024 term is also open, with a priority deadline of June 30, 2024, and a final deadline of August 1, 2024

Concordia University Wisconsin

Concordia University Wisconsin still has open seats for the following programs.

Graduate Programs:

Undergraduate Programs:

  • Online RN to BSN Completion program for the summer (May or June) and fall (Aug or Oct) semesters! This program requires you to have your RN through an associate degree program and you must be working as an RN. Classes are online in an eight-week format with an option to attend year round, allowing you the flexibility you need to complete your BSN. 
  • Hybrid Accelerated Second Degree BSN program for Spring 2025 (January)! Check now to make sure you have all the required pre-requisites needed for this accelerated 15-month BSN program because you would still have time to complete any that are missing. This 15-month accelerated hybrid program is located in WI, and requires you to have completed a non-nursing bachelor’s degree with a cumulative undergrad GPA of a 2.75 or greater. Students will need to be in southeastern WI near Milwaukee for their clinicals and lab/simulation classes while learning online.

Harding University

The application is open for Harding University’s Master of Science in Nursing programs: Family Nurse Practitioner and Master’s Entry Level into Professional Nursing. Scholarships are available for eligible admitted students. Apply now!

  • Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner: Available to registered nurses with a Bachelor’s of Science in nursing and higher degrees, this program prepares family nurse practitioners for outpatient settings across the lifespan. The program consists of online courses with on-campus intensives three times throughout the entire program. Part-time and full-time tracks are available. Now admitting in Fall, Spring, and Summer.   • Master of Science in Nursing – Master’s Entry into Professional Nursing: Harding offers the first prelicensure program in Arkansas, preparing students to become advanced entry-level professional nurses who graduate with a Master of Science in nursing. The master’s entry into professional nursing will include a focus on health care administration and leadership. The five-semester program is offered year-round. Completed applications are reviewed upon submission.

For MEPN – Choose from two tracks:

  1. Traditional track for those with bachelor’s degree in any field.*
  2. Early entry track for those with 90 undergraduate credit hours.*

*Both MEPN tracks require Arkansas nursing prerequisites

The University of Missouri Sinclair School of Nursing is a land-grant university centrally located in mid-Missouri with a long history of serving rural and underserved populations. Florida International University

Florida International University’s FEP program deadline has been extended!

FIU Nursing’s Combined BSN/MSN Track for Foreign-Educated Physicians (FEP) program at the Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing & Health Sciences is a pathway for foreign-educated physicians (FEPs) from culturally diverse backgrounds to obtain the BSN degree, become Registered Nurses (RNs), obtain the MSN degree, and become eligible to take the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) national certification exam. Students are admitted into the Combined BSN/MSN Track for Foreign-Educated Physicians (FEP) once a year in the Fall semester. 

The deadline to apply to the Combined BSN/MSN Track for Foreign-Educated Physicians (FEP) program has been extended to May 6, 2024.

NEW PROGRAMS


Bellarmine University

Bellarmine’s Master of Science in Nursing – Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (MSN–AGACNP) track prepares professional nurses to provide a wide range of critically ill/acute and chronic disease management skills to adult and geriatric individuals in a variety of healthcare settings.

  • The Bellarmine AGACNP program is online, with only one required on-campus visit over the course of the program.
  • Practicum hours can be done at a location in your area and are supervised by a preceptor selected in conjunction with our clinical coordinator.
  • The Bellarmine AGACNP program is 45 credit hours, which students complete in two years of part-time study (including two summers).

Calvin University

Calvin University’s School of Health is excited to announce the start of the Master of Science in Nursing Program. This part-time, asynchronous, online program prepares nurses to become advanced practice nursing leaders in their workplace and community. Students will learn advanced nursing techniques from a Christian, faith-based perspective, allowing them to become skilled nursing leaders.

Students will choose from one of two tracks:

  • Nurse Educators prepare nurses for leadership positions in nursing education, such as a preceptor, lead nurse educator, or clinical nurse instructor both in academic settings as well as the clinical arena. Students will gain expertise in teaching/learning theories, designing curricula, and assessing educational outcomes.
  • The Clinical Nurse Leader prepares nurses for effective leadership in promoting positive health care outcomes. Students will gain skills in addressing quality improvement and risk management, implementing evidence-based care practices, developing team leadership and collaboration, and utilizing innovative systems and technology.

Upon completion of the degree, both tracks prepare students to seamlessly transition into a Doctor of Nurse Practicing program and/or sit for the national certification exams in their specialty.
