Open Seats One of the benefits of NursingCAS is to provide notifications to applicants about programs that have available space. Did you know that more than 14,000 seats go unfilled annually? Review the listing below to determine if you would like to apply to one of these programs.

Barry University

Our BSN programs are now enrolling for 2018:

Traditional BSN:

Belmont University

Belmont’s graduate nursing programs – the BSN-to-DNP for Family Nurse Practice (FNP), the MSN-to-DNP, the MSN for Family Nurse Practice (FNP), and post graduate APRN for Family Nurse Practice – all have open seats for Fall 2018.


Harding University

Harding University Carr College of Nursing Family Nurse Practitioner Program has open seats for Fall 2018 admission. The deadline to apply is March 1, 2018, but completed applications will be reviewed once received.

Harding’s FNP program is a primarily online program, but also has required on campus time once a semester. During on campus, students will review physical examination skills, office procedures, as well as become acquainted with the faculty and peers.

Oregon Health & Science University

Our Nurse Anesthesia application cycle is about to wrap up! The application deadline is Wednesday, December 20, 2017. Please make sure your application is submitted by the deadline and that your transcripts have already been requested and sent to NursingCAS.

University of Miami

Up to $30,000 of tuition support is available through the Scholarship for Disadvantaged Students (SDS) for the MSN Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner or the MSN Family Nurse Practitioner program for the Fall 2018 term. The SDS is meant to promote diversity among the health professions and, more specifically, the nursing workforce. To qualify you must meet the following requirements:

  1. earn a BSN degree prior to matriculation
  2. agree to maintain full-time enrollment throughout their academic program
  3. are from a disadvantaged background and/or have financial need
  4. are a “U.S. citizen or non-citizen national, or foreign national with permanent residence in the United States …Individuals on temporary student visas are not eligible under this funding opportunity”

Students who meet these criteria are encouraged to review the SDS scholarship announcement, download and complete the SDS application, and upload in the “Documents” tab under “Other.” Students must also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) when they submit their NursingCAS application to be considered for the SDS. Submit your application early to not only have your file reviewed immediately, but to also be considered for this scholarship. We’ve been able to award over 20 scholarships in each semester over the past two years!

University of Tennessee Health Science Center

The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) College of Nursing has open seats for Fall 2018 admission in Accelerated BSN, RN to BSN, DNP, RNFA, Post-graduate AGACNP Certificate, DNP/PhD Dual Degree, and PhD in Nursing programs. The deadline is approaching on January 15, 2018 (PhD program is on February 1, 2018). We look forward to reviewing your application.
