The NursingCAS Applicant Newsletter is a monthly newsletter intended to keep you informed about programs with available space, deadline extensions, and new programs added to NursingCAS. The newsletter will feature:

  • Open Seats: One of the benefits of NursingCAS is to provide notifications to applicants about programs that have available space. Review the listing below to determine if you would like to apply to one of these programs.
  • Deadline Extensions: Programs often extend their deadlines in order to allow applicants more time to complete the admissions process. Review the list below to see if any programs you are interested in have extended their deadline.
  • New Programs: New programs are added to NursingCAS on a continual basis. Discover and learn about new program offerings available to you by reviewing the listings below.

Carroll College – Montana

Carroll College is actively accepting and reviewing for our 15-month Accelerated BSN (ABSN) program, with classes beginning May 2023.

Building on a long history of excellence in nursing education at Carroll College, the small cohort size of our Accelerated nursing track includes coursework and clinical experiences designed to ensure our graduates immediately employable, with 100% of our 2022 ABSN graduates that tested having passed the NCLEX on the first attempt!

Also, Carroll College has been awarded a $200,000 grant from the state of Montana through its investment in the Accelerate Montana rapid workforce training program. The application for this $12,500 scholarship can be submitted by any student who has been accepted to begin the Accelerated Nursing program in the Summer 2023.

Harding University

Apply now through NursingCAS – Master of Science in Nursing Programs: Family Nurse Practitioner or Master’s Entry Level into Professional Nursing

Post-graduate Certificate

  • Family Nurse Practitioner: This option is available to registered nurses or advanced practice registered nurses with a Master of Science in nursing in another area. Students may complete up to 32 credit hours in the program. Upon completion of required courses, students are eligible to sit for the family nurse practitioner national certification exam.

Master of Science in Nursing

  • Family Nurse Practitioner: Available to registered nurses with a Bachelor of Science in nursing, this program prepares family nurse practitioners for outpatient settings across the lifespan. The program consists of online courses with on-campus intensives three times throughout the entire program. Part-time and full-time tracks are available. Now admitting for Fall 2023 & Summer 2023! Second MSN option: For registered nurses and advanced practice registered nurses with a Master of Science in nursing in another area, up to 15 hours of essential courses may count toward the 45-hour degree completion.
  • Master’s Entry into Professional Nursing: Harding offers the first prelicensure program in Arkansas, preparing students to become advanced entry-level professional nurses who graduate with a Master of Science in nursing. The master’s entry into professional nursing will include a focus on health care administration and leadership. The five-semester program is offered year-round.

Two tracks are available for the MEPN program:

  1. Traditional track for those with bachelor’s degree in any field.*
  2. Early entry track for those with 90 undergraduate credit hours.*

*Both tracks require Arkansas nursing prerequisites

Mary Baldwin University

Mary Baldwin University is accepting applications for our dynamic Doctor of Nursing Practice program. This entry-to-practice degree is designed to prepare BSN-qualified nurses who are ready to advance their careers. Choose from two possible tracks:

Oakland University

Ph.D. in Nursing – Open Seats Available – Application Deadline is April 15.

Our Ph.D. in Nursing program is designed to prepare scholars to respond to the escalating health care needs of society, enhance nursing knowledge through research, and steward the nursing discipline.

Pacific Lutheran University

The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at Pacific Lutheran University is still accepting applications for Summer 2023.

The program prepares graduates in the advanced-practice specialty concentrations of Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). It has been ranked as one of the top 120 Doctor of Nursing Practice programs by the U.S. News and World Report.

Both the PMHNP and FNP programs are designed to meet the demand for additional advanced practice providers in the region and state. The program qualifies students to sit for national certification examinations, making them eligible under Washington State law for Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) licensure. In the State of Washington, ARNPs have independent practice and prescribing authority.

Palm Beach Atlantic University

Palm Beach Atlantic University has open seats at both the West Palm Beach campus and the Orlando campus.

Undergraduate degrees:

  • Upper-level track BSN program is a traditional 16-week daytime format and allows students who have already taken their science requirements to enter into upper-level nursing courses and complete the program in about two and half years. Applicant transcripts will be reviewed for transfer credits and an initial degree plan developed. Although an AA degree or prior bachelor’s degree is preferred, it is not a requirement. South University – Orlando Learning Site

There are still open seats available for our Summer BSN program at the Orlando Campus for South University. Our program is an accelerated program, designed for non-registered nurse students. Students may complete prerequisite courses in as few as seven quarters (21 months). After successful completion of the nursing program, the graduate must pass the National Council Licensure Examination Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN) in order to obtain licensure and begin practice as a registered nurse. Once someone is accepted into the clinical portion of the nursing program, the schedule becomes structured. Clinical nursing classes are currently being offered on campus Monday – Friday, daytime hours between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET

Master of Science, Entry to the Profession of Nursing (MS-MEPN)

Our accelerated Master of Science in Nursing – Entry to the Profession of Nursing (MS-MEPN) program is tailor-made for students holding university degrees in other fields who want to become registered nurses. Students complete the program in 17 months with program options in our two Arizona locations (Gilbert and Tucson). Enrolled in both a pre-licensure and master’s generalist program, graduates earn a Master of Science in Nursing degree and are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN exam. The application deadline for OHSU’s hybrid Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program (starting September 2023) has been extended until August 1. South Dakota State University

The application admission to SDSU College of Nursing Graduate Programs (Master of Science, Postgraduate Certificate, Doctor of Nursing Practice, and Doctor of Philosophy) for fall 2023 is open and the application deadline has been extended to May 1, 2023. NEW PROGRAMS


California State University – East Bay

We are now accepting applications for Fall 2023 through June 1, 2023. The CSU East Bay’s online/hybrid MSN program offers two practice concentrations:

  • Nursing Education
  • Nursing Leadership and Administration.

The program offers high-quality, accessible, online graduate education over four semesters as well as annual two-day campus immersion meetings that give critical support for student success. Graduates in Nursing Education will be well-equipped to work as educators in clinical or academic settings. Graduates in the Leadership & Administration Concentration will be prepared for mid-level management and leadership positions in a variety of healthcare settings.

Colorado Mesa University

The Colorado Mesa University (CMU) Graduate Nursing Program offers Master of Science in Nursing degrees in family nurse practitioner and new adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner tracks. CMU also offers a Doctor of Nursing Practice-Family Nurse Practitioner dual track. Both the MSN and DNP degrees are fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. Part-time and full-time attendance options exist for all degrees and tracks. Courses are offered online, allowing students to reside in their home communities; however, some travel to campus is expected as students move through the program.

CMU’s family nurse practitioner program has been ranked as one of the most affordable programs in the country according to Online U. At CMU, students have access to relatively small class sizes, allowing for meaningful interactions with peers and course faculty.   • One year of full-time RN experience at the time of application. Psychiatric nursing experience is preferred but not required.
  • Two letters of reference from individuals who can attest to your clinical expertise and preparedness for graduate level study.
