The NursingCAS Applicant Newsletter is a monthly newsletter intended to keep you informed about programs with available space, deadline extensions, and new programs added to NursingCAS. The newsletter will feature:

  • Open Seats: One of the benefits of NursingCAS is to provide notifications to applicants about programs that have available space. Review the listing below to determine if you would like to apply to one of these programs.
  • Deadline Extensions: Programs often extend their deadlines in order to allow applicants more time to complete the admissions process. Review the list below to see if any programs you are interested in have extended their deadline.
  • New Programs: New programs are added to NursingCAS on a continual basis. Discover and learn about new program offerings available to you by reviewing the listings below.

Applicants can also view the NursingCAS Events Calendar, where NursingCAS schools provide prospective students with information on events like upcoming webinars and information sessions throughout the application cycle.

NursingCAS is hosting our Preparing and Strengthening Your NursingCAS Application webinar on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. ET. Register to attend this webinar and stay well-informed on applicant best practices.

Webinar content includes:

  • Detailed overview of the NursingCAS application
  • Guidance on requesting transcripts and submitting coursework entry
  • Answers to FAQs (application statuses, references, etc.)
  • Tips to avoid common mistakes
  • Recommendations to ensure quick application processing times
  • Resources available for NursingCAS applicants

The event is open to current and future NursingCAS applicants and will be led by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) and NursingCAS. The webinar will be recorded and shared with registrants following the event.

Baldwin Wallace University

The deadline to apply for Baldwin Wallace University’s Accelerated BSN (ABSN) is May 1, 2024.

The ABSN is designed for students who have earned a bachelor’s degree in an area outside of nursing and are interested in earning their BSN. The program is 15 months long and based near Cleveland, Ohio. Additional highlights of the program include:

  • Outstanding NCLEX-RN pass rates, with an average first-time pass rate of 94%

California State University, East Bay

We are now accepting applications for Fall 2024 through June 1, 2024. The CSU East Bay’s online/hybrid MSN program offers two practice concentrations:

  • Nursing Education
  • Nursing Leadership and Administration

The program offers high-quality, accessible, online graduate education over four semesters as well as annual two-day campus immersion meetings that give critical support for student success. Graduates in Nursing Education will be well-equipped to work as educators in clinical or academic settings. Graduates in the Leadership & Administration Concentration will be prepared for mid-level management and leadership positions in a variety of healthcare settings.

Charles R. Drew University

The Summer priority deadline to apply for Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science’s BSN and MSN programs for Summer 2024 is Friday, March 30.

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing: Designed for students who have not earned a bachelor’s degree and wish to earn their BSN. Our students are prepared for the NCLEX-RN exam and can apply for the Public health nurse certification. Graduates of this program are prepared for a successful career in nursing. The program consists of part-time and full-time tracks. Now admitting in Summer, Fall, and Spring. Please contact our office for deadline information.
  • Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner: Available to registered nurses with a Bachelor’s of Science in nursing and higher degrees, this program prepares nurse practitioners for outpatient settings across the lifespan. The program consists of online courses with on-campus intensives three times throughout the entire program. Part-time and full-time tracks are available. Now admitting in Fall, Spring, and Summer. Concordia University Wisconsin

Concordia University Wisconsin  has open seats for the online RN to BSN Completion program for the Summer (May or June) and Fall (August or October) semesters! Apply and submit your NursingCAS application today! This program requires you to have your RN through an associate’s degree program and you must be working as an RN. Classes are online in an 8-week format with an option to attend year-round, allowing you the flexibility you need to complete your BSN.

Concordia University Wisconsin has open seats for the hybrid Accelerated Second-Degree BSN program for Spring 2025 (January)! Check now to make sure you have all the pre-requisites needed for this accelerated 15-month BSN program. This 15-month accelerated hybrid program is located in WI, and requires applicants to have completed a non-nursing bachelor’s degree with a cumulative undergrad GPA of a 2.75 or greater. Students will need to be in Southeastern WI near Milwaukee for their clinicals and lab/simulation classes while learning online.

Davenport University

Nursing remains one of the highest-growth occupations today, and Davenport University is accepting applications for our Fall 2024 BSN-PL program. Don’t miss the April 12, 2024 application deadline!

Unlike some nursing schools, acceptance into Davenport University’s BSN-PL program guarantees you a seat in the nursing program. The master’s entry into professional nursing will include a focus on health care administration and leadership. The five-semester program is offered year-round. Completed applications are reviewed upon submission. 

For MEPN – Choose from two tracks:

  1. Traditional track for those with bachelor’s degree in any field.*
  2. Early entry track for those with 90 undergraduate credit hours.*

*Both MEPN tracks require Arkansas nursing prerequisites

Oregon Health & Science University

The OHSU School of Nursing is also accepting applications for Fall 2024 in the following programs:

Pfeiffer University

Pfeiffer University offers a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing degree and is currently accepting applications for our Fall 2024 class. We have space available and are accepting applications on a rolling basis until all seats are filled or until May 1, 2023. As a small liberal arts university, we offer students a high-quality, personalized education experience. We accept transfer students who can complete pre-requisite courses prior to program entry. Regis College

Regis College is accepting applications to the full-time Direct Entry Master’s in Nursing for Non-Nurses program. The program starts in the Fall semester only, with clinicals starting that same semester.

We  require seven prerequisites (Chemistry I and II, Anatomy & Physiology I and II, Microbiology, Statistics, and Human Development). You may apply and be accepted without all prerequisites having been completed; however, all must be completed by the start of the program in September. We are currently accepting applications on a rolling admission basis for Fall 2024.

Research College of Nursing

Research College of Nursing (RCoN), located in Kansas City, Missouri, still has open seats for our Fall 2024 Traditional BSN track start! Pre-requisite coursework totaling 60 hours in sciences and liberal arts is required. Application deadline is April 15, 2024.

Shepherd University

The University of Missouri Sinclair School of Nursing is a land-grant university centrally located in mid-Missouri with a long history of serving rural and underserved populations. DEADLINE EXTENSIONS


Oakland University

Be among the next generation of researchers. The Oakland University School of Nursing will prepare you with the highest-level nursing degree with full faculty support and mentorship. Oakland University’s Ph.D. in Nursing Program is designed to prepare scholars to respond to the escalating health care needs of society, enhance nursing knowledge through research, and steward the nursing discipline. Our fully-online program uses technology to increase student connectedness and includes an annual “Ph.D. Immersion Week.” This three day hybrid event consists of networking opportunities, intensive coursework, distinguished speakers & student presentations.
