The NursingCAS Applicant Newsletter is a monthly newsletter intended to keep you informed about programs with available space, deadline extensions, and new programs added to NursingCAS. The newsletter will feature:

  • Open Seats: One of the benefits of NursingCAS is to provide notifications to applicants about programs that have available space. Review the listing below to determine if you would like to apply to one of these programs.
  • Deadline Extensions: Programs often extend their deadlines in order to allow applicants more time to complete the admissions process. Review the list below to see if any programs you are interested in have extended their deadline.
  • New Programs: New programs are added to NursingCAS on a continual basis. Discover and learn about new program offerings available to you by reviewing the listings below.

Applicants can also view the NursingCAS Events Calendar, where NursingCAS schools provide prospective students with information on events like upcoming webinars and information sessions throughout the application cycle.

Baldwin Wallace University

Baldwin Wallace University (located near Cleveland, OH) is accepting applications for the Fall 2023 cohort of our BSN program, Accelerated Track (ABSN)!

As a center for innovative nursing education, the mission of the Baldwin Wallace ABSN is to provide an outstanding learning opportunity for non-nursing baccalaureate graduates who desire to expand their knowledge and skills. Highlights of the program include:

California State University, East Bay

The CSU East Bay’s online/hybrid MSN program offers two practice concentrations: 

  • Nursing Education
  • Nursing Leadership and Administration.

The program offers high-quality, accessible, online graduate education over four semesters as well as annual two-day campus immersion meetings that give critical support for student success. Graduates in Nursing Education will be well-equipped to work as educators in clinical or academic settings. Harding University

Master of Science in Nursing

  • Family Nurse Practitioner: Available to registered nurses with a Bachelor of Science in nursing, this program prepares family nurse practitioners for outpatient settings across the lifespan. The program consists of online courses with on-campus intensives three times throughout the entire program. Part-time and full-time tracks are available. Now admitting in Fall, Spring, & Summer!
  • Master’s Entry into Professional Nursing: Harding offers the first prelicensure program in Arkansas, preparing students to become advanced entry-level professional nurses who graduate with a Master of Science in nursing. The master’s entry into professional nursing will include a focus on health care administration and leadership. The five-semester program is offered year-round. Completed applications are reviewed upon submission. Application Deadline – March 1, 2023

Post-Graduate Certificate

  • Family Nurse Practitioner: This option is available to registered nurses or advanced practice registered nurses with a Master of Science in nursing in another area. Students may complete up to 32 credit hours in the program. Upon completion of required courses, students are eligible to sit for the family nurse practitioner national certification exam.

Choose from two tracks:

  1. Traditional track for those with bachelor’s degree in any field.*
  2. Early entry track for those with 90 undergraduate credit hours.*

*Both tracks require Arkansas nursing prerequisites

King University

King University has open seats for Spring 2023 in our pre-licensure BSN program. Students are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as they meet eligibility requirements.

  • King University has small class sizes with no more than 40 students per cohort.
  • NCLEX pass rate is above the national average.

Nebraska Methodist College

Nebraska Methodist College has traditional nursing seats available for the Spring 2023 term. Candidates are encouraged to submit their NursingCAS application in a timely manner. We will review verified applications on a rolling basis until all seats are full for the Spring (January) 2023 term.

Nebraska Methodist College is located in Omaha, Nebraska and is considered one of the region’s premier nursing schools. Our Traditional Nursing program is an on-campus direct entry program. There are no prerequisite courses required for admission. General education transfer credit will be reviewed for transferability. 

In order to be eligible for admission into our traditional BSN program, candidates must meet all of the following criteria.

  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Ability to meet the technical standards of nursing practice.
  • Success in previous math and science courses — specifically algebra, biology, chemistry or anatomy and physiology.

Consider RFU’s Doctor of Nursing Practice: Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program. Shepherd University

Shepherd University is pleased to offer two DNP tracks: FNP (Family Nurse Practitioner) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).

Oregon Health & Science University

The application deadline for OHSU’s Master’s in Nursing Education program (starting January 2023) has been extended until November 30, 2022. If you want to teach the next generation of nurses, join our MNE program to become a nurse-educator and start working as nursing faculty in the academic setting or a staff nurse-educator in a healthcare organization.

Want to earn your bachelor’s in nursing in only 15 months? OHSU School of Nursing has an Accelerated Bachelor of Science with a major in nursing that is offered in both Portland and Ashland. We are excited to announce the Ashland campus just opened a fall 2023 cohort! DNP Occupational Health – FUNDING AVAILABLE!

Occupational health advanced-practice nurses plan, implement, and track health and safety programs and services to employees, worker populations, and association groups. Acting as advocates for the rights of employees, OHNs work closely with employers and management to ensure that health and safety standards are met, employee productivity and overall health safety are maximized in corporate, industrial, governmental or academic settings. OHNs hold multi-faceted positions, ranging from clinicians to educators, case managers to corporate directors and consultants.

The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Occupational Health Nursing prepares nurses to apply knowledge, skills, and abilities; to use evidence from research to plan, implement, and track health and safety programs and services to employees, worker populations and association groups.

Ursuline College

Ursuline College is excited to announce a new track within the Master of Science in Nursing program. The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner is now available!

Through the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) track, students will develop skills in the assessment and diagnosis of mental illness in the child, adolescent, and adult populations. Emphasis is placed on the use of healing interaction in communication with individuals dealing with mental health disorders when initiating and evaluating treatment plans, understanding the major classes of psychotropic drugs and their indications for use in the treatment of various psychiatric disorders across the lifespan, and the professional roles and responsibilities of the advanced practice nurse.
