The NursingCAS Applicant Newsletter is a monthly newsletter intended to keep you informed about programs with available space, deadline extensions, and new programs added to NursingCAS. The newsletter will feature:

  • Open Seats: One of the benefits of NursingCAS is to provide notifications to applicants about programs that have available space. Review the listing below to determine if you would like to apply to one of these programs.
  • Deadline Extensions: Programs often extend their deadlines in order to allow applicants more time to complete the admissions process. Review the list below to see if any programs you are interested in have extended their deadline.
  • New Programs: New programs are added to NursingCAS on a continual basis. Discover and learn about new program offerings available to you by reviewing the listings below.

Applicants can also view the NursingCAS Events Calendar, where NursingCAS schools provide prospective students with information on events like upcoming webinars and information sessions throughout the application cycle.

The 2023 – 2024 NursingCAS Application Cycle opened on August 10, 2023.

The 2023 – 2024 NursingCAS application cycle opened on August 10. Applicants are able to create a new account or log back into an existing account using the “Re-Applicant” feature. The Re-Applicant Feature allows you to carry over your data and transcripts from your previous NursingCAS application to the 2023 – 2024 application. The “Re-Applicant” feature is available to all users who had an active NursingCAS account during the previous application cycle regardless of whether your application was verified or even submitted to a program during that time.

Baldwin Wallace University

Baldwin Wallace University is still accepting applications for the Accelerated BSN Fall 2024 cohort.

If you have earned a bachelor’s degree outside of nursing and are seeking to earn your BSN (in just 15 months), we would highly encourage you to explore BW’s ABSN! Highlights of the program include:

Barnes-Jewish College Goldfarb School of Nursing

Earn your BSN in 12 months at Barnes-Jewish College Goldfarb School of Nursing! Goldfarb is accepting applications for the Accelerated BSN program for Spring 2024.

Our St. Louis-based program allows qualified students to earn their BSN in just 12 months! Highlights include: clinical experiences through nationally recognized Barnes-Jewish Hospital, outstanding preparation for the NCLEX-RN examination, individualized faculty mentoring, opportunities to learn and collaborate in our brand-new, state-of-the-art labs, and more!

Candidates can still have in-progress prerequisite coursework when applying. The application deadline is December 10, 2023.

California State University, East Bay

We are now accepting applications for Fall 2024 through June 1, 2024. The CSU East Bay’s online/hybrid MSN program offers two practice concentrations:

  • Nursing Education
  • Nursing Leadership and Administration.

The program offers high-quality, accessible, online graduate education over four semesters as well as annual two-day campus immersion meetings that give critical support for student success. Graduates in Nursing Education will be well-equipped to work as educators in clinical or academic settings. Graduates in the Leadership & Administration Concentration will be prepared for mid-level management and leadership positions in a variety of healthcare settings.

Carroll College – Montana

Carroll College in Helena, Montana is still accepting applications for our 15-month program in Accelerated Nursing, beginning May 2024. Students applying now can still be considered for our 20-seat cohort.

Our Nursing students are sought after by some of the nation’s best hospitals and clinics because our students are exceptionally well-prepared for a nursing career. College of Saint Benedict / Saint John’s University

The College of Saint Benedict has open seats for our Doctor of Nursing Practice Family Nurse Practitioner program with a Spring 2024 start.

Don’t delay! Submit your application in NursingCAS today as we only have 6 seats available for the January cohort! Our program runs on a hybrid format – students should expect to attend 2-3 class sessions on campus in St. Joseph, Minnesota each semester.

Concordia University Wisconsin

Are you considering a second career as a nurse and have a bachelor’s degree in another academic field? Now is the time to apply to Concordia University Wisconsin’s Accelerated Second Degree BSN program that starts January 29, 2024! We still have seats available in Concordia’s annual cohort!

This is a 15-month program that does require some time on campus and in WI for clinicals and simulation classroom experiences. 60% of the program is online and 40% is in-person. The application deadline is December 15, 2023 in NursingCAS. Students must have an undergraduate cumulative GPA of a 2.75+, plus the following pre-reqs: College Algebra, Anatomy & Physiology 1 and 2, Chemistry, and Microbiology. Students will need to have taken a Nursing Assistant or EMT class and have a recent American Heart Association BLS course.

Harding University

Apply now! The application is open for Harding University’s Master of Science in Nursing programs: Family Nurse Practitioner or Master’s Entry Level into Professional Nursing. Scholarships are available for eligible admitted students!

  • Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner: Available to registered nurses with a Bachelor of Science in nursing or higher, this program prepares family nurse practitioners for outpatient settings across the lifespan. The program consists of online courses with on-campus intensives three times throughout the entire program. Part-time and full-time tracks are available. Oregon Health & Science University

The OHSU School of Nursing RN to BS Completion program is accepting applications to start in Winter 2024. The RN to BS online program is designed for Registered Nurses who have an associate degree in nursing and want to earn a bachelor’s in nursing. Pfeiffer University 

Pfeiffer University offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and is currently accepting applications for our Fall 2024 class. Our priority admission deadline is February 1, and we are currently seeking more applicants for priority admissions. After February 1 we accept students on a rolling admission basis until all seats are full.

As a small liberal arts university, we offer students a high-quality, personalized education experience. We accept transfer students who can complete pre-requisite courses prior to program entry. In addition to our traditional pre-licensure students, we offer a track for LPNs who want to pursue their BSN. Regis College

Regis College is accepting applications to the full-time Direct Entry Master’s in Nursing for Non-Nurses program. The program starts in the Fall, with clinicals starting that same semester.

We do require 7 prerequisites (Chemistry I and II, Anatomy & Physiology I and II, Microbiology, Statistics, and Human Development) which could be fulfilled through undergraduate course work or after at other institutions. You may apply and be accepted without all prerequisites having been completed; however, all prerequisites must be completed by the start of the program in September.

Our deadlines for applications to the Fall 2024 cohort are December 1 and February 1, with rolling admissions on a space-available basis beyond February 1.

Shepherd University

Shepherd University is pleased to offer two DNP tracks:

Stephen F. Austin State University 

Stephen F. Austin State University, a member of the University of Texas System, is accepting applications for the Traditional & Accelerated Fall & Summer 2024 cohort! This Texas-based accelerated (ABSN) face-to-face program allows students to earn their BSN in just 15 months!

Highlights of this program include: a wide variety of clinical experiences including the rural setting, outstanding preparation for the NCLEX-RN Examination with program pass rates consistently 97% and above, individualized faculty mentoring, opportunities to learn and collaborate in state-of-the-art SIM labs, and more.

The traditional (TBSN) Fall semester program can be completed in four semesters and offers the same quality of experiences as our accelerated program above, just at a slower pace.

The priority consideration deadline to apply for the ABSN is January 15, 2024, and for the TBSN is February 1, 2024. Please note candidates can still have in-progress prerequisite coursework by the time they apply for this program. Please refer to our website for prerequisite requirements.

University of Evansville

The University of Evansville’s Nurse Anesthesia priority application cycle for the cohort that will begin January 2025 is open, and will remain open until December 31, 2023. All well-qualified applications received during the priority application cycle will be awarded an interview. We will be holding interviews on-campus and in-person on January 12, 2024 for those who are invited. All admission application requirements MUST be met to qualify for a priority decision.

University of Missouri – Columbia

University of Missouri Sinclair School of Nursing Online Doctor of Nursing Practice, MS(N) and Post-Graduate Certificate options.

The University of Missouri Sinclair School of Nursing is a land-grant university centrally located in mid-Missouri with a long history of serving rural and underserved populations. We accept students from across the country to our online DNP, MS(N), or post-graduate certificate programs. We are CCNE-accredited, require limited on-campus visits, and charge in-state tuition to all students, making completion of your degree affordable and convenient.

Our deadlines are September 30 (all degrees) and January 31 (all degrees) every year. Graduate Certificate program only admits for Fall.

University of Providence

Exciting news! We still have some seats available in our RN-BSN program, as well as our Traditional BSN program for Spring 2024. The application deadline of December 20 is quickly approaching, so be sure to get your applications in.

We understand that everyone learns differently, and after much thought and consideration, the Department of Nursing has decided to offer instruction for our RN-BSN program that caters to your unique learning style. Beginning in Spring 2024, we will now offer both asynchronous and synchronous learning opportunities for our RN-BSN program.

Applications are now open for our Spring 2025 Accelerated BSN program located in both Lewistown, MT and Anchorage, AK. Those applications will be open until June 15, 2024.

Concordia University Wisconsin

Concordia University Wisconsin offers a flexible online RN to BSN Completion program perfect for nurses with an ADN looking to complete their BSN. This program is 120 credits, and Concordia accepts up to 84 transfer credits. Classes start every 8 weeks and are offered year-round. This program’s application just launched in NursingCAS, so apply today! Spring start options are January 8 and March 11. National Louis University

National Louis University, a leader in higher education for over 135 years, is pleased to announce the opening of the School of Nursing, which offers several pathways to the BSN degree. If you have been thinking about moving into a nursing career or advancing your nursing career, NLU is the answer for you!
