The NursingCAS Applicant Newsletter is a monthly newsletter intended to keep you informed about programs with available space, deadline extensions, and new programs added to NursingCAS. The newsletter will feature:

  • Open Seats: One of the benefits of NursingCAS is to provide notifications to applicants about programs that have available space. Review the listing below to determine if you would like to apply to one of these programs.
  • Deadline Extensions: Programs often extend their deadlines in order to allow applicants more time to complete the admissions process. Review the list below to see if any programs you are interested in have extended their deadline.
  • New Programs: New programs are added to NursingCAS on a continual basis. Discover and learn about new program offerings available to you by reviewing the listings below.

Applicants can also view the NursingCAS Events Calendar, where NursingCAS schools provide prospective students with information on events like upcoming webinars and information sessions throughout the application cycle.

Recording Now Available: Preparing and Strengthening Your NursingCAS Application Webinar

Were you unable to attend our Preparing and Strengthening Your NursingCAS Application webinar? You can still access a recording of this webinar to stay well-informed on applicant best practices. You will need to enter your name and email to access the recording. Webinar content includes:

  • Detailed overview of the NursingCAS application
  • Guidance on requesting fee waivers, transcripts, and submitting coursework entry
  • Answers to FAQs (application statuses, references, etc.)
  • Tips to avoid common mistakes
  • Recommendations to ensure quick application processing times
  • Resources available for NursingCAS applicants

The 2023 – 2024 NursingCAS Application Cycle opened on August 10, 2023.

The 2023 – 2024 NursingCAS application cycle opened on August 10. Applicants are able to create a new account or log back into an existing account using the “Re-Applicant” feature. The Re-Applicant Feature allows you to carry over your data and transcripts from your previous NursingCAS application to the 2023 – 2024 application. The “Re-Applicant” feature is available to all users who had an active NursingCAS account during the previous application cycle regardless of whether your application was verified or even submitted to a program during that time.

Baldwin Wallace University

Baldwin Wallace University is accepting applications for the Accelerated BSN Fall 2024 cohort!

This Cleveland-based program allows students with a bachelor’s degree in a field outside of nursing to earn their BSN… in just 15 months! Highlights of this program include: clinical experiences through renowned healthcare organizations (such as University Hospitals and the Cleveland Clinic), outstanding preparation for the NCLEX-RN Examination, individualized faculty mentoring, opportunities to learn and collaborate in state-of-the-art labs, and more.

The priority consideration deadline to apply for the ABSN is November 15, 2023. Please note candidates can still have in-progress prerequisite coursework by the time they apply for this program.

California State University, East Bay

We are now accepting applications for Fall 2024 through June 1, 2024. The CSU East Bay’s online/hybrid MSN program offers two practice concentrations:

  • Nursing Education
  • Nursing Leadership and Administration.

The program offers high-quality, accessible, online graduate education over four semesters as well as annual two-day campus immersion meetings that give critical support for student success. Graduates in Nursing Education will be well-equipped to work as educators in clinical or academic settings. Graduates in the Leadership & Administration Concentration will be prepared for mid-level management and leadership positions in a variety of healthcare settings.

Carroll College – Montana

Carroll College in Helena, Montana is still accepting applications for our 15-month program in Accelerated Nursing, beginning May 2024. Students applying now can still be considered for our 20-seat cohort.

Our Nursing students are sought after by some of the nation’s best hospitals and clinics because our students are exceptionally well-prepared for a nursing career. Harding University

Apply now! The application is open for Harding University’s Master of Science in Nursing programs: Family Nurse Practitioner or Master’s Entry Level into Professional Nursing. Scholarships are available for eligible admitted students!

  • Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner: Available to registered nurses with a Bachelor of Science in nursing, this program prepares family nurse practitioners for outpatient settings across the lifespan. The program consists of online courses with on-campus intensives three times throughout the entire program. Part-time and full-time tracks are available. Now admitting in Fall, Spring, & Summer!
  • Master of Science in Nursing-Master’s Entry into Professional Nursing: Harding offers the first prelicensure program in Arkansas, preparing students to become advanced entry-level professional nurses who graduate with a Master of Science in nursing. The master’s entry into professional nursing will include a focus on health care administration and leadership. The five-semester program is offered year-round. Completed applications are reviewed upon submission. Application Deadline – February 1, 2024

Choose from two tracks:

  1. Traditional track for those with bachelor’s degree in any field.*
  2. Early entry track for those with 90 undergraduate credit hours.*

Manchester University, Fort Wayne

Open seats for the Fall 2024 start Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program!

Manchester University’s Accelerated BSN Second Degree is for future nurses who already have a bachelor’s degree in another field and would like to pursue a path toward becoming a registered nurse. Oregon Health & Science University

DEADLINE EXTENSIONS


Concordia University Wisconsin

Concordia University Wisconsin still has open seats for the Accelerated Second Degree BSN program for non-nurses for Spring 2024! The original deadline to apply was November 1, but it has been extended to December 15, 2023!

Don’t delay! Submit your application in NursingCAS today, because Concordia only accepts 24 students in the January cohort! A mandatory virtual orientation is from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on January 11, with online class starting January 29, 2024. The program is 60% online and 40% in-person. Students must be available to attend clinicals and simulations on campus in Wisconsin at our Mequon, WI campus and at clinical sites in Southeastern, WI. View the 15-month program schedule online.

Linfield University’s Good Samaritan School of Nursing will continue to accept applications for the two-year Bachelor of Science degree program until November 15, 2023. The program begins on February 5, 2024.

The OHSU School of Nursing Health Systems and Organizational Leadership (HSOL) program has re-opened and is accepting applications to start in Fall 2024.
