The NursingCAS Applicant Newsletter is a monthly newsletter intended to keep you informed about programs with available space, deadline extensions, and new programs added to NursingCAS. The newsletter features:

  • Open Seats: One of the benefits of NursingCAS is to provide notifications to applicants about programs that have available space. Review the listing below to determine if you would like to apply to one of these programs.
  • Deadline Extensions: Programs often extend their deadlines in order to allow applicants more time to complete the admissions process. Review the list below to see if any programs you are interested in have extended their deadline.
  • New Programs: New programs are added to NursingCAS on a continual basis. Discover and learn about new program offerings available to you by reviewing the listings below.

Applicants can also view the NursingCAS Events Calendar, where NursingCAS schools provide prospective students with information on events like upcoming webinars and information sessions throughout the application cycle.

The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) hosted the Preparing and Strengthening Your NursingCAS Application webinar on September 30. Watch the recording to gain answers to your NursingCAS questions about submitting transcripts, fee waivers, coursework entry, and more as well as a detailed overview of the NursingCAS application and other FAQs. No matter where you are in the application process, this webinar is a great resource to discover everything you need to know regarding the nursing school application process.

California State University – East Bay

The Cal State East Bay Master of Science in Nursing Program seeks to prepare nurses from our diverse, multicultural community to be effective leaders in clinical and academic settings. The curriculum expands upon baccalaureate nursing practice and prepares nurses with broad knowledge and advanced skills needed for a higher level of nursing practice and leadership. The program allows for pathways to teaching and organizational leadership as well as to doctoral education focused on practice or research.

The program provides graduate nursing education in an accessible and flexible delivery approach of online courses. The program is designed to be completed in 4 semesters (full-time) and can also be completed on a part-time basis.

Harding University

The application is open for Harding University’s Master of Science in Nursing programs: Family Nurse Practitioner and Master’s Entry Level into Professional Nursing. Scholarships are available for eligible admitted students. Apply now!

  • Master of Science in Nursing –Family Nurse Practitioner: Available to registered nurses with a Bachelor’s of Science in nursing and higher degrees, this program prepares family nurse practitioners for outpatient settings across the lifespan. The program consists of online courses with on-campus intensives three times throughout the entire program. Part-time and full-time tracks are available. Now admitting in Fall, Spring, and Summer.   • Master of Science in Nursing –Master’s Entry into Professional Nursing: Harding offers the first prelicensure program in Arkansas, preparing students to become advanced entry-level professional nurses who graduate with a Master of Science in nursing. The master’s entry into professional nursing will include a focus on health care administration and leadership. The five-semester program is offered year-round. Completed applications are reviewed upon submission.

Two tracks are available for the MEPN program:

  1. Traditional track for those with bachelor’s degree in any field.*
  2. Early entry track for those with 88 undergraduate credit hours.*

*Both MEPN tracks require Arkansas nursing prerequisites

Regis College

Regis College is accepting applications to the full-time Direct Entry Master’s in Nursing for Non-Nurses program. The program starts in the Fall only, with clinicals starting that same semester.

We require seven prerequisites (Chemistry I and II, Anatomy & Physiology I and II, Microbiology, Statistics, and Human Development) which can be fulfilled through undergraduate course work or after at other institutions. You may apply and be accepted without all prerequisites having been completed; however, all prerequisites must be completed by the start of the program in September. We are currently accepting applications for Fall 2026.

We have the following application deadlines:

  • Priority: December 15th
  • Preferred: March 15th
  • Rolling admission following the deadlines based on space availability

DEADLINE EXTENSIONS


Pepperdine University

Pepperdine University has extended the application deadline for the Entry-Level Master’s in Nursing – Clinical Nurse Leader (ELM-CNL) Program Spring 2026 cohort. All NursingCAS applications and supporting materials must be submitted by November 1, 2025, to be considered for spring admission.

NEW PROGRAMS


University of Mount Union

Applications for Spring 2026 are now being accepted for the University of Mount Union’s Post-Master’s Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Certificate Program! The University of Mount Union’s Post-Master’s Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Certificate Program is designed for registered nurses (RNs) or advanced practice nurses (APRNs) who already hold a graduate nursing degree and want to become board-certified Family Nurse Practitioners. The 24-credit program, which can be completed in under two years, combines mostly online coursework with two on-campus intensives and includes hands-on clinical training.

Applicants must have a master’s or doctoral nursing degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA, a current RN license (and APRN license if applicable), at least 1,000 clinical hours, and submit a statement of intent, resume, and transcripts. Graduates of the program will be prepared to provide patient-centered care across the lifespan, translate advanced knowledge into practice, collaborate across healthcare teams, utilize technology, analyze data for population health, improve safety and quality outcomes, and advance the professional nursing identity.


Old Dominion University

Discover the future of nursing at the Ellmer School of Nursing, part of Old Dominion University, with our innovative Nursing Science (PhD) program, starting in Spring 2026. Designed for forward-thinking professionals eager to make a significant impact, this program emphasizes cutting-edge fields such as AI, robotics, and telehealth, alongside leadership in healthcare policy, community engagement, and interprofessional research. Offered in a flexible hybrid format, students can choose to study full-time, typically completing their degree in 3-4 years, or part-time, finishing in 4-6 years. Additionally, there is an option to accelerate progress by taking courses throughout the year.

Submit your application by December 15, 2025, to embark on this transformative journey. Admission requires a completed NursingCAS profile with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, with a master’s degree. RNs with an MSN from a CCNE-accredited institution are encouraged to apply. For non-native English speakers, a TOEFL score of at least 79 is necessary. A compelling personal statement is also required, showcasing your motivation and specific research interests.
