The NursingCAS Applicant Newsletter is a monthly newsletter intended to keep you informed about programs with available space, deadline extensions, and new programs added to NursingCAS. The newsletter will feature:

  • Open Seats: One of the benefits of NursingCAS is to provide notifications to applicants about programs that have available space. Review the listing below to determine if you would like to apply to one of these programs.
  • Deadline Extensions: Programs often extend their deadlines in order to allow applicants more time to complete the admissions process. Review the list below to see if any programs you are interested in have extended their deadline.
  • New Programs: New programs are added to NursingCAS on a continual basis. Discover and learn about new program offerings available to you by reviewing the listings below.

Applicants can also view the NursingCAS Events Calendar, where NursingCAS schools provide prospective students with information on events like upcoming webinars and information sessions throughout the application cycle.

The 2024-2025 NursingCAS Application Cycle Opened on August 8, 2024.

The 2024-2025 NursingCAS Application Cycle opened on August 8, 2024 and includes programs that begin in the following semesters: Summer 2025, Fall 2025, Winter 2026, and Spring 2026.

The last date to submit to the 2023-2024 cycle is January 31, 2025. You will need to submit your application for the 2023-2024 cycle by 11:59 PM EST on January 31, 2025 for it to be considered by your program of interest (note that you must abide by your selected program’s deadline).

You are able to create a new account or log back into an existing account using the “Re-Applicant” feature. The Re-Applicant Feature allows you to carry over your data and transcripts from your previous NursingCAS application to the 2024-2025 application. The “Re-Applicant” feature is available to all users who had an active NursingCAS account during the previous application cycle regardless of whether your application was verified or even submitted to a program during that time. Carroll College – Montana

Carroll College in Helena, Montana is accepting applications for our fifteen-month program in Accelerated Nursing, beginning May 2024. The priority deadline for our twenty-seat cohort is October 1.

Our Nursing students are sought after by some of the nation’s best hospitals and clinics because our students are exceptionally well-prepared for a nursing career. Our Accelerated Nursing students’ NCLEX first-time pass rates are 100%, and our students are socially and technically skilled to handle whatever an adventure in nursing throws at them. Concordia University Wisconsin

Concordia University Wisconsin still has open seats for the 15-month Accelerated Second Degree BSN (ABSN) for non-nurses in the Spring 2025 semester. The application deadline is November 1, 2024 in NursingCAS!

Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree awarded with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher and the following prerequisite courses: General Chemistry, Microbiology, Human Anatomy & Physiology 1, and Human Anatomy & Physiology 2 (grade of a B or better and taken within the past 7 years); and college algebra or calculus (grade of a C or better). Applicants must also complete a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) course, but CNA certification is optional and the American Heart Association’s BLS for Healthcare professionals certification must be completed or current.

Davenport University is accepting applications for its Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Prelicensure) program! We currently have open seats for January 2025 and the Fall semester of 2025. Emory & Henry University

Emory & Henry University has seats available for our RN-BSN program for those who have an associate’s degree in nursing and wish to complete their Bachelor of Science in Nursing for Spring 2025. The final application deadline is December 1, 2024 in NursingCAS.

We also have open seats for transfer students to our full-time, on campus BSN program for Spring 2025. The application deadline is December 1, 2024 with all documents submitted no later than December 15, 2024 in NursingCAS.

Harding University

The application is open for Harding University’s Master of Science in Nursing programs: Family Nurse Practitioner and Master’s Entry Level into Professional Nursing. Scholarships are available for eligible admitted students. Apply now!

  • Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner: Available to registered nurses with a Bachelor’s of Science in nursing and higher degrees. This program prepares family nurse practitioners for outpatient settings across the lifespan. The program consists of online courses with on-campus intensives three times during the entire program. Part-time and full-time tracks are available. Now admitting in Fall, Spring, and Summer.
  • Master of Science in Nursing – Master’s Entry into Professional Nursing: Harding offers the first prelicensure program in Arkansas, preparing students to become advanced entry-level professional nurses who graduate with a Master of Science in nursing. The Master’s Entry into professional nursing will include a focus on health care administration and leadership. The five-semester program is offered year-round. Completed applications are reviewed upon submission.

Two tracks are available for the MEPN program:

  1. Traditional track for those with bachelor’s degree in any field.*
  2. Early entry track for those with 90 undergraduate credit hours.*

*Both MEPN tracks require Arkansas nursing prerequisites

James Madison University

James Madison University’s School of Nursing would like to inform you that we are still accepting applications to our MSN and DNP programs for the Spring & Fall 2025 semesters.

Our Newest Programs:

  • If you currently have your BSN, we offer two Post-Bachelor’s to DNP options: Healthcare Systems Leadership or Advanced Practice.

A detailed description of each concentration can be found at the following links: BSN-DNP Advanced Practice (Hybrid) and BSN-DNP Healthcare Systems Leadership (Online). Applications are due October 1, 2024 for the Spring 2025 cohort. Start date is January 21, 2025.

Online Only Programs:

  • Our online programs include Post-Master’s Doctor of Nursing Practice, Clinical Nurse Leader and Nurse Administrator. Applications for these programs are due December 1, 2024 for the Spring 2025 cohort. Start date is January 21, 2025.

Hybrid Programs:

  • The hybrid MSN programs include Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, and Nurse Midwifery. Nurse-Midwifery and Psych Mental Health NP concentrations are offered in conjunction with Shenandoah University. Applications to these programs are due December 1, 2024 for the Fall 2025 cohort.

Kettering College

Building on a tradition of excellence and innovation, the online Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program at Kettering College is designed to prepare nurses for leadership roles in the rapidly changing healthcare environment.

Students choosing this degree are interested in advancing their nursing careers toward leadership and management to improve healthcare outcomes. The MSN curriculum is based on the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) Nurse Leader Core Competency Model, and includes core content in leadership, health promotion, organizational behavior, human resources, financial management, evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and mentoring.

The 39-credit program is scheduled for completion over 2 years with courses offered online and practicum experiences arranged with healthcare facilities close to the student’s geographic area. Graduates are academically prepared to sit for the Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (CNML) certification exam offered by the AONL when the graduate meets eligibility requirements for work experience.

Apply through NursingCAS by the December 1 deadline for January admission, and by the July 1 deadline for August admission.

Regis College

Regis College is accepting applications to the full-time Direct Entry Master’s in Nursing for Non-Nurses program. The program starts in the Fall only with clinicals starting that same semester.

We do require seven prerequisites (Chemistry I and II, Anatomy & Physiology I and II, Microbiology, Statistics, and Human Development) which could be fulfilled through undergraduate course work or after at other institutions. You may apply and be accepted without all prerequisites having been completed, however, all must be completed by the start of the program in September. Our deadlines for applications to the Fall ’25 cohort are October 1, December 1, and February 1.

Florida International University

Florida International University is still accepting applications for Spring 2025!

The extended deadline to apply to the Generic/Traditional BSN program is October 15, 2024.

FIU Nursing’s Generic BSN program at the Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing & Health Sciences is a five (5) semester, full-time, upper-level program comprised of didactic coursework and clinical practice enriched with simulation education activities in our S.T.A.R. Center and opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations. Students are admitted into the Generic BSN program twice a year in the Spring and Fall semesters.
