User Updates

The 2017 – 2018 NursingCAS cycle opened on August 23rd. We are committed to making this cycle even more successful than the 2016 – 2017 cycle and we would like to thank you for your continued support. Please do not hesitate to reach out with feedback or questions at any time.

WebAdMIT Transfer Settings: Proceed with Caution!

When you log into WebAdMIT 2017 – 2018, please be aware that you may see a “Transfer Settings” button. It is important that you do NOT click this button unless you are the primary user at your school and received the instructions about how to conduct the transfer settings properly. If you have questions about this please check internally with your colleague(s) who are the primary contact(s) for NursingCAS or reach out to the WebAdMIT support team at 1-857-304-2020 or webadmitsupport@liaisonedu.com. Only one individual from each school should be designated to initiate the settings transfer. If you have been designated as the individual to initiate the transfer, please familiarize yourself with the instructions for this process.

Update Your Program Assignments in WebAdMIT

If you do not see applicants populating in WebAdMIT, it is likely because you did not update your program assignments or your school does not have live programs yet. To view applicants for programs that have been approved, you must log into your account, select “Account” and “Edit My Account” then scroll down to the “Program Assignments” and check off the programs you need to view and hit submit. You will need to do this each time a program goes live or you will not see the applicant information. If you do not see a program right away, please allow 24 hours for it to sync over to WebAdMIT. If you need to add programs, you can do so by using the CAS Configuration Portal within WebAdMIT. Please view the instructions if you are unfamiliar with program configuration.

Managing the new “In Progress” Applicant Access in WebAdMIT

The ability to view full in-progress applicant details was a new enhancement implemented this cycle. We heard from many users that they wanted more access to in-progress applicant data prior to submission to help aid recruitment outreach and communications efforts. You now have full view of any information inputted by in-progress applicants before they submit. Previously, you could only view their contact information and designation.

Now that you have access to any data entered by applicants in the “In Progress” status you may have noticed that the in-progress applicants are appearing in your results when you use the Search, Lists, Exports and/or Reports functions in WebAdMIT. If you prefer to filter out the in-progress applicants then we recommend you use the List Manager tool to do so by following the instructions here.

There are further List Manager instructions available in the new WebAdMIT Help Center. If you need help or have questions please contact the WebAdMIT Support Team at 857-304-2020 or webadmitsupport@liaisonedu.com. And please be mindful to abide by the in-progress applicant Usage Policy this cycle.

Reminder: Processing for the NursingCAS 2016-2017 Cycle will extend through October 1

If you have applicants from last cycle that submitted but are still missing transcripts and/or references they have until October 1 to send them in to be processed and verified. Several reminder emails have been sent from NursingCAS to applicants in the “Received” status to notify them of the extended processing time. If applicants are sending transcripts to NursingCAS via mail to be posted to their 2016-2017 application please remind them to email nursingcasinfo@nursingcas.org with the subject line “Transcript Transfer”. More information about the extended processing and procedures can be found here.

NursingCAS Know-How

When we speak to schools about their goals with NursingCAS, we often hear:

“We want to increase our program’s visibility.”

“We want to reach a wider range of applicants.”

“We want to increase applicant yield.”

The visibility that comes with participating in NursingCAS is a major benefit to schools. But sometimes simply putting your program on the application isn’t enough. Work must still be done to cultivate potential students and bring them all the way through the process, from first touch to enrollment. We created the Applicant Event Calendar to help assist with this process. The Event Calendar is a free resource for NursingCAS schools. It is public-facing and viewable on the Applicant NursingCAS website, www.nursingcas.org. We encourage you to submit any recruitment fairs, webinars, or information sessions hosted by your programs.

The first thing applicants see when navigating to the page is the calendar. The default view is by month, but applicants have the ability to view events by week or day as well. They also have the option to filter the events shown by using the “add filter” button. The Name, Description, and Location filters are keyword dependent. For example, if an applicant wished to find all the upcoming events for DNP programs, they could simply search for the term “DNP” in the Name or Description fields. Alternatively, if they were looking for events in a certain city, they could search for that city in the location field. Functionality also exists to filter by multiple fields simultaneously.

Below the calendar is the Event List which displays basic information including the name of the event, the school, date/time, and the time zone of the event. Applicants can view more details such as the description and any registration links by clicking on the name of the event. Events are listed chronologically.

Submitting an event to the calendar is easy. Navigate to your participating schools dashboard on mynursingcas.org and select the “Add Event” button. Simply fill out the pop up form with your event data and submit. After receipt of your event data, a NursingCAS staff member will approve each submission. Approved submissions will appear on the public facing Event Calendar. If you have any questions about this feature, please contact Rachel Stayton at rstayton@aacnnursing.org.
