NursingCAS Applicant Newsletter & Recruitment Event Calendar The Applicant Newsletter, provided by AACN, is emailed to 160,000+ NursingCAS applicants the third week of every month. This newsletter is for programs affiliated with NursingCAS only. Program submissions are FREE and due on the Friday prior to publication. However, posts must relate to one of the three topics below or they will be removed. Please submit an announcement using the form on our website. Here is some additional information on how schools can leverage each section of the Applicant Newsletter:
We recommend including contact information for representatives or links to your website/NursingCAS application within the announcement. Visit the Newsletter Archive for samples of previous submissions. The NursingCAS Events Calendar is a great platform for publicizing your program’s recruitment events. These can be student information sessions, virtual fairs, open houses, and other recruitment events that can help your institution engage with potential applicants. You can submit items to the Events Calendar using the Applicant Event Form. This calendar is distributed to 160,000+ students each month. Comparative Reports within WebAdMIT Did you know that WebAdMIT provides a suite of predefined reports? Some of these reports focus specifically on your applicant pool (Feeder School Report, Applicants by Application Status, etc.). The Comparative Report feature allows your program to compare your applicants to the entire national CAS pool. With Comparative Reports, you can compare Ages, Applicants Reporting Economic Disadvantage, Citizenship Status, Ethnicity and Race, Gender or Sex, GPAs, Military Service, and many more fields! A video overview and instructions for Creating Reports are available. WebAdMIT Sandbox Environment Refresh Are you utilizing the WebAdMIT Sandbox? If not, you should be! Sandbox is a duplicate test platform useful for testing and training purposes; any actions performed in Sandbox will not affect the live data in production. This tool provides users with a safe, “near-production” environment to submit test applications and run sample exports, among other actions. The WebAdMIT Sandbox is a copy of the WebAdMIT production environment with sensitive applicant information (such as surnames, email addresses, etc.) obfuscated. The WebAdMIT Sandbox is refreshed between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. ET every Monday. If Monday is a US or Canadian holiday, deployment is the next business day. This deployment includes all system changes from the preceding release. The WebAdMIT Sandbox environment is refreshed with current (cleansed) production data and program configurations. Any test exports, custom fields, etc., in the current Sandbox will be overwritten. Support for WebAdMIT School Users Make sure and sign up to receive important notices through the Liaison CAS Status page for updates on future CAS and WebAdMIT outages.
2022 – 2023 NursingCAS Fee Assistance Program Summary AACN is pleased to report that the 2022-2023 NursingCAS Fee Assistance Program was the most robust program to date! With $52,300 in total funding, AACN covered the cost of an initial nursing school application for 848 eligible applicants. Please keep in mind that schools can view fee waivers in WebAdMIT to determine which of your applicants meet the income or service requirements for the NursingCAS Fee Assistance Program.

Review the Shared Lookup Tables for Spring 2024. If you are exporting data into a campus system, work with your IT team to determine if updates need to be made. If your school created a “crosswalk” from the WebAdMIT data to the local data in your campus system’s Student Information System (SIS) or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, it might need to be updated with the newly added options. Many fields within the NursingCAS application have predefined answer values that applicants can select from; for example, the Country and County fields have predefined answer values. These values are housed in shared “lookup tables” viewable in the NursingCAS Customer Export Layout (CEL). For guidance on optimal implementation of the new values, review the Shared Lookup Table Updates page. New Local Status Manager Column Shows When an Email Template is Linked to a Local Status WebAdMIT allows you to link an Email Template with each Local Status so that you can automatically send an email to applicants upon changing their status. With this enhancement, the Local Status Manager page now includes a column that indicates whether an Email Template is associated with each Local Status. New Fields Added to Evaluators Export Field Group With this enhancement, the following fields have been added to the Evaluators field grouping in WebAdMIT exports:
These fields correspond with the evaluations added via the Program Materials (Quadrant 4) section of the application. If you have any questions, please contact the NursingCAS Team at nursingcas@aacnnursing.org. |
