Review the recording to share ideas and learn more about your peer institutions’ approaches to sustaining their recruitment pipeline.
Content Includes:
- 2-3 short presentations from fellow NursingCAS school users discussing their event strategies.

Annual Spring Lookup Updates
Many fields in the Applicant Portal contain predefined answer values that applicants can select; for example, the Country and County fields both have predefined answer values. These values are housed in shared "lookup tables." Periodically, we update these tables to include additional response options.
The new lookup table values include updates to colleges, ISO codes, majors, and minors. Review the Shared Lookup Table Updates page for a full list of updates. Note that the Master High School List will be updated in the next release.
These lookup table updates impact the following portals, some of which you may use. If you created a "crosswalk" from our portals to your local data in your SIS/CRM, you may need to update this crosswalk for the newly-added options. For guidance on the optimal implementation of the new values, review the Shared Lookup Table Updates page.
Bulk Edit Documents in the Configuration Portal
You can now manage program-level documents in batch through the Bulk Edit button on the Organization Details page. This allows you to quickly and efficiently configure document requests, minimum and maximum requirements, and instructions across all your programs.
Note that the Bulk Edit Programs button has been renamed Bulk Edit, and you can now select the type of bulk editing option you want to do from the drop-down (e.g., program attributes or documents).

New Documentation for WebAdMIT
Please review the list of new and updated documentation, all accessible in the WebAdMIT Help Center.
- National CAS Schedules | Some institutions participate in multiple national CASs, which are CASs that are affiliated with an association, typically within the health professions (e.g., dental, pharmacy, physical therapy, etc.). If your institution is one of these, you can access important CAS milestones in this document. This document is also available in the CAS Configuration Portal Help Center.
- Implementing Single Sign-On (SSO) | This article provides information on setting up SSO, which simplifies the user experience, improves security, and reduces administrative overhead.
TOEFL Scoring Changes
Starting January 21, 2026, ETS's TOEFL exam introduced a new 1-6 scoring scale for each section and overall total score. This new scale is more directly aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). To accommodate this, the following changes were made:
- Applicant Portal: Applicants can report their scores in both the old and new scoring scales in the Standardized Tests section.
- CAS API: The CAS API Application response models (v1 & v2) have been extended with the following two new JSON nodes to support these changes: academicHistory->tests->reported->TOEFL2026 (for applicant-reported tests) and academicHistory->tests->official->TOEFL2026 (for official tests). For more information, including supported properties under each node, see the application response models on the CAS API Swagger page.
- Liaison Analytics: TOEFL scores on the new scale are available in the existing TOEFL dashboards.
- WebAdMIT: A new set of TOEFL-related fields for this new scoring scale is available: Applicant Reported TOEFL Banded, Official TOEFL Banded, and Official TOEFL MyBest Banded. You must add these fields to any place you may already pull in TOEFL fields (e.g., lists, exports, scoring, etc.).
If you have data integrations set up for WebAdMIT or the CAS API, you must review and update them to import the new TOEFL scores into your target system. Be sure to review your target system first so you know what adjustments to make. For WebAdMIT, we recommend adding the new TOEFL fields to your exports.
Important: When you receive official TOEFL scores taken after January 21, 2026, ETS will provide the historical scale equivalent for only the overall total score (i.e., both a 6 on the new scoring scale and 120 on the old scoring scale). ETS does not provide the historical scale equivalent for any section scores (i.e., you only get a 4 on the new scoring scale for the Reading section). Be sure to review all your templates and imports to accommodate the new scoring scale and capture the data you need.

WebAdMIT Sandbox Environment Refresh
Are you utilizing the WebAdMIT Sandbox? If not, you should be! Sandbox is a duplicate test platform useful for testing and training purposes; any actions performed in Sandbox will not affect the live data in production. This tool provides users with a safe, “near-production” environment to test applications and run sample exports, among other actions. The Sandbox is a copy of the WebAdMIT production environment with sensitive applicant information (such as surnames, email addresses, etc.) obfuscated.
The WebAdMIT Sandbox is refreshed between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. ET every Monday. If Monday is a U.S. or Canadian holiday, deployment is the next business day and includes all system changes from the preceding release. The WebAdMIT Sandbox environment is refreshed with current (cleansed) production data and program configurations. Any test exports, custom fields, etc., in the current Sandbox will be overwritten.
By The Numbers
2024-2025 Cycle Accreditation Statistics
Accreditation ensures that nursing education programs across the United States are held to common standards. This furthers the profession and greatly enhances the overall quality of care administered by nurses.
NursingCAS recognizes national nursing accreditation from five major accrediting bodies: the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME), the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), the Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA), and the Council on Accreditation (COA). The NursingCAS application includes a feature that enables schools to list their accrediting body for the benefit of prospective applicants.
In the 2024-2025 NursingCAS cycle, the accreditation status of participating schools broke down as follows (note that schools can receive accreditation from multiple accrediting bodies):
- 84% CCNE Accredited
- 23% COA Accredited
- 14% ACEN Accredited
- 6% ACME Accredited
- 2% CNEA Accredited
Do you know what your nursing program’s accrediting body is? Keep track of your accreditation status and make sure to stay informed on upcoming reviews!

Q&A
Q: How can I ensure that my team receives all communications from NursingCAS?
A: NursingCAS communicates regularly with all primary and secondary contacts, who can expect to receive information on upcoming events/trainings, platform updates, and our monthly Dispatch newsletter. These contacts also have permission to submit items to the NursingCAS applicant newsletter and events calendar.
Not sure who your primary/secondary contacts are? If you are unsure if your school’s primary/secondary contacts are up to date, or if you would like to be added as a primary contact, please reach out to ncas@aacnnursing.org. This is especially important for teams that have gone through any staff changes.
Note that primary/secondary contacts are not the same as your team’s WebAdMIT users.
Haven’t been receiving emails from NursingCAS? Emails can sometimes get flagged as junk or spam, which prevents them from appearing in your inbox. To ensure you receive our communications, you may need to designate us as a trusted source through your email provider. Please work with your institution’s IT department to ensure that the following email addresses and email domains are safe-listed:
• support@nursingcas.myliaison.com
• donotreply@webadmit.org
• webadmitsupport@liaisonedu.com
• ncas@aacnnursing.org
