Annual Spring Lookup Updates
Many fields in the Applicant Portal contain predefined answer values that applicants can select; for example, the Country and County fields both have predefined answer values. These values are housed in shared "lookup tables." Periodically, we update these tables to include additional response options.
The new lookup table values include updates to colleges, ISO codes, majors, and minors. Review the Shared Lookup Table Updates page for a full list of updates. Note that the Master High School List will be updated in the next release.
These lookup table updates impact the following portals, some of which you may use. If you created a "crosswalk" from our portals to your local data in your SIS/CRM, you may need to update this crosswalk for the newly-added options. For guidance on the optimal implementation of the new values, review the Shared Lookup Table Updates page.
Date Field Reference Guide
In WebAdMIT, applicant files contain various date fields. Some of these dates are affected by applicant activities, while others are affected by the CAS processing documents or other data points. You can review the most common applicant date fields in this guide. Note that you can use many of these dates when identifying new and updated applicants.

WebAdMIT Sandbox Environment Refresh
Are you utilizing the WebAdMIT Sandbox? If not, you should be! Sandbox is a duplicate test platform useful for testing and training purposes; any actions performed in Sandbox will not affect the live data in production. This tool provides users with a safe, “near-production” environment to test applications and run sample exports, among other actions. The Sandbox is a copy of the WebAdMIT production environment with sensitive applicant information (such as surnames, email addresses, etc.) obfuscated.
The WebAdMIT Sandbox is refreshed between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. ET every Monday. If Monday is a U.S. or Canadian holiday, deployment is the next business day and includes all system changes from the preceding release. The WebAdMIT Sandbox environment is refreshed with current (cleansed) production data and program configurations. Any test exports, custom fields, etc., in the current Sandbox will be overwritten.

Q&A
Q: How should I prepare for Configuration?
A: The configuration portal for the upcoming 2026-2027 NursingCAS cycle will open on Monday, May 18. Consider the following best practices to prepare for the launch of the new cycle effectively:
Submit Your 2026-2027 Renewal Form: In order for your programs to be approved, your school must submit the 2026-2027 Renewal Form to confirm your participation in the upcoming cycle.
Access to the form requires logging into the NursingCAS.org website. If you have not yet accessed your account (which all Primary Contacts have), please follow the following instructions:- Visit the reset password page
- Enter your email address and click Submit
- Check your inbox. You will receive an email with a one-time login link to set your new password
Once you’re logged into the account, you should be able to submit the renewal form. If you have any issues logging in or accessing the form, please reach out to nursingcas@aacnnursing.org.- Confirm WebAdMIT Access: Ensure that all team members involved in the configuration process have access to WebAdMIT accounts. Your Institution Manager can create accounts and modify existing accounts as needed. Visit the Managing Users resource in the Help Center for more information.
- Log into Prelaunch: Confirm that all users can log into the WebAdMIT Prelaunch portal. Prelaunch is a "staging" environment where your team will configure your programs during the standard configuration period. This environment allows you to configure and preview programs for the new cycle without impacting the current cycle. It is not the same as WebAdMIT production, the “live environment" where you perform your applicant review processes.
For more information on the difference between the Prelaunch and Production Environments, please view the Prelaunch Environment Reference Guide in the WebAdMIT Help Center.
- Register for the Configuration Training Webinar: The NursingCAS: Configuration Training Webinar will take place on Thursday, May 28, from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. ET. This webinar reviews the configuration process and will provide recommendations and best practices for a successful cycle. At least one member from each institution must participate, but all users are encouraged to attend.
- Anticipate Updates to Your Institutional Website: With the launch of a new cycle, identify all dates, deadlines, and hyperlinks on your institutional website that will need to be updated. Once the cycle launches, be prepared to update your site (or reach out to your IT or marketing team) to ensure that all information listed (e.g., fees, cycle dates, links) is up-to-date and consistent. This ensures that students can access your application in the correct cycle portal.
It is highly recommended that you place "Apply Now" buttons throughout your college website which easily directs the student to your application in multiple places. Link options include:
- Multi-Cycle Landing Page (Recommended): This directs applicants to the application landing page, which displays all open cycles. This link does not need to be updated.
- Deep Links: These allow you to link applicants directly to the Add Program page with your program’s prefiltered. These links must be updated annually.
- Separate Links for Each Cycle: You can also link to a specific cycle. These links must be updated annually.
- 2025-2026 cycle: ( https://nursingcas2026.liaisoncas.com )
- 2026-2027 cycle: ( https://nursingcas2027.liaisoncas.com )*
*link not yet active
- Multi-Cycle Landing Page (Recommended): This directs applicants to the application landing page, which displays all open cycles. This link does not need to be updated.
Detailed instructions on how to effectively prepare for the launch of the 2026-2027 cycle will be sent out via email in late Spring.
