The NursingCAS Applicant Newsletter is a monthly newsletter intended to keep you informed about programs with available space, deadline extensions, and new programs added to NursingCAS. The newsletter will feature:

  • Open Seats: One of the benefits of NursingCAS is to provide notifications to applicants about programs that have available space. Review the listing below to determine if you would like to apply to one of these programs.
  • Deadline Extensions: Programs often extend their deadlines in order to allow applicants more time to complete the admissions process. Review the list below to see if any programs you are interested in have extended their deadline.

DePaul University
MENP program (for aspiring nurses)

The Master’s Entry to Nursing Practice (MENP) degree is for those who have a bachelor’s degree in any field other than nursing and want to enter the nursing profession as a Registered Nurse (RN). This program is offered at DePaul’s Lincoln Park campus and the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine campus in North Chicago.

  • We are currently taking applications for the Winter 2022 cohorts (starting January 3, 2022) at the Lincoln Park and Rosalind Franklin locations.

DNP program (for BSN or MSN-prepared RNs)

DePaul’s Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program will give you the leadership, business, and research skills you need to work effectively with advanced health care providers, administrators, and researchers. The DNP tracks include: Adult-Gerontological Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner.

MS in Nursing (for ADN or BSN-prepared RNs)

If you’re a registered nurse, DePaul’s MS in Nursing program will help you develop the skills and credentials you need to become a nurse administrator, nurse educator, family nurse practitioner, or adult-gerontology nurse practitioner. The program can be completed 100% online with clinical placements in your state of residence (some states excluded- email graddepaul@depaul.edu for more information).

Florida International University
Florida International University is currently accepting applications for our Spring 2022 admission cycle. We are accepting applications for the Post-BSN to DNP and Post-MSN DNP programs.

A little about our programs:

Our Post-BSN to DNP confers an MSN NP in route to the DNP, allowing students to become licensed APRNs during their final semesters, as they complete their DNP. This program is designed for students who have obtained a BSN and are looking for a direct path on their journey to obtaining the DNP. Our Post-MSN to DNP focuses on improving healthcare by facilitating a culture of patient safety, evidence-based practice, culturally competent care for diverse patients/populations, and by providing the additional skills necessary to develop advanced practice nursing leaders for the future.

The ABSN program is for future nurses who already have a bachelor’s degree in another field and would like to pursue a path toward becoming a registered nurse. Manchester offers a full-time, 16-month program that can get you on the fast track to a new, meaningful, and rewarding career.

Wheeling University
We are accepting applications for the following programs:

  • Second Degree BSN: The Accelerated BA/BS to BSN program at Wheeling University provides a pathway for individuals who are looking to make a career change into the field of nursing. The 16-month program is structured to allow those who currently hold a bachelor’s degree in another major to complete Wheeling University’s nursing curriculum and are eligible to apply for licensure as a registered nurse. We are accepting applications for Fall 2022.
  • RN-to-BSN: Wheeling University’s online RN-BSN degree program provides an integrated curriculum of liberal arts and nursing courses to meet the needs of Registered Nurses who graduated from diploma or associate degree programs. The program can be completed in 3 semesters fully online (providing pre-requisites are met). We have rolling admission and continually accept applications to the RN-BSN program.
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN): The MSN-FNP prepares nurses for the advanced practice family nurse practitioner role and national certification. We have rolling admission and continually accept applications to the MSN Family Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Post-Master’s Certificate: Wheeling University offers two Post-Master’s Certificates: Family Nurse Practitioner and Nursing Administration.

William Jewell College
We are accepting applications for our January 2022, 16-month BSN program. This is a program for students who have already completed a bachelor’s degree or will complete it before January 2022. The priority application deadline for this program is August 2 but we will continue to admit students for this cohort until November 15, or until the cohort is full. We are accepting applications for our May 202212-month BSN program. The priority application deadline for this program is December 15 but we will continue to admit students for this cohort until March 15, or until the cohort is full.

Accelerated B.S.N./Second Degree Program:

South Dakota State University (SDSU) College of Nursing offers a 12-month Accelerated B.S.N. for students with a degree in another field who wish to become a Registered Nurse on the Aberdeen, Rapid City, and Sioux Falls campuses. The Aberdeen/Rapid City program has extended the application for Spring (January) 2022 and is currently accepting applications on a rolling basis until September 1 or until the program is filled with qualified applicants. Helene Fuld College of Nursing
Attention! Helene Fuld College of Nursing will now have a January 2022 start term for the LPN to RN (AAS) Program. Applications are now available on NursingCAS. For instructions on how to apply, please visit our school’s website.

Shepherd University
Beginning Fall 2021, Shepherd University is pleased to offer a post-graduate certification program for individuals who have national certification as APRN and hold a PhD or DNP. Two tracks will be available: Family Nurse Practitioner and Psych Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

In addition, the Psych Mental Health Nurse Practitioner is being offered as a new BSN to DNP track beginning Fall 2021. Please visit our website for more information on our Doctor of Nursing Practice program.
