Featured Liaison Learning | Beyond the Inquiry Form: How to Identify Student Interest Earlier
“The enrollment journey no longer begins with an inquiry form,” writes Mia Nissen, Liaison International’s Senior Digital Solutions Manager, “Today's students engage with institutions through dozens of touchpoints before they're ready to identify themselves as applicants.”
In this blog post, Nissen outlines simple ways to expand enrollment strategies beyond the standard inquiry form, examining other digital behaviors that can be used to identify prospective students and build strategies for effective multichannel engagement. Read the full post for insight on capturing meaningful signals earlier in the interest pipeline to create more personalized, responsive experiences for potential students.

Q&A
Q: What resources do we have for integrating NursingCAS with our current system(s)?
A: Some admissions users may need to import their applicant/application data into another system on campus. This can be accomplished through Integration, a process which moves NursingCAS data into an institution’s local system(s).
The Data Integration Help Center provides a comprehensive overview of the options available and contains the information that may be required by your institution's IT team. Preparatory materials, including guidance on mapping out your integration process and a sample Integration Project Timeline are available to teams looking for a place to start. To build a solid foundation for the integration process, teams should:
- Identify what data you need (i.e., what applicants and what application data)
- Define where you need to send it
- Determine how often you need to send it
Once your team has identified its integration needs, you can determine which tool would be the best fit. Among the most utilized integration tools available to NursingCAS users are the CAS API and WebAdMIT API.
- The CAS API enables data to be loaded directly into your local system and is especially helpful for schools that utilize multiple CASs. It is designed to enable easy and secure access to applications and data in real time, directly from the same transactional data store used by the Applicant Portal and Configuration Portal.
Access to the CAS API is provided upon request by your campus's Institution Manager. The Institution Manager should contact Liaison's Client Support Specialist team to request access.
- The WebAdMIT API first processes data in WebAdMIT, which is then loaded into your local system. This allows schools to automate operations within WebAdMIT (such as List Manager, Export Manager, and PDF Manager) to aggregate application data as needed before it is exported to an institutional system.
To work with the WebAdMIT API, the API Access permission should be enabled in your Work Group. Below are some resources that can help your team get started with WebAdMIT API.
- If you're an admissions user and are considering using the WebAdMIT API, review the Getting Started with the WebAdMIT API article.
- If you're an IT analyst and working with the WebAdMIT API to assist your admissions team, review the Working with the API for Your Institution's WebAdMIT Users article.
- If you're a developer and need programming assistance or documentation, review the Programming for WebAdMIT's API article.
If your team is looking for more hands-on support, Liaison International can provide one hour of integration consulting at no cost to NursingCAS member schools. If further support is needed, paid integration consulting services are available. If you would like to learn more about these services, please contact Karen Jacobs, Liaison International's Vice President of Account Management, at kjacobs@liaisonedu.com.
